The unthinkable happened.
As we finished watching a late night John Adams (final disc in the series), I arose at about 1 am to remove the disc and put it back into the envelope for the return to BlockBuster Online. In the dark I vaguely remember looking at it and thinking ‘hmm that looks weird’ . The thought unfortunately did not stick.
The next day the envelope was returned to the store. I set up the Wii, intending to be told ‘keep up with me’ as I stormed the castle walls in Assassin’s Creed. I opened the game tray, but alas – no disc.
I felt a chill come over me as the realization struck…. I opened the HD DVD paper weight/regular DVD player and to my dismay pulled out John Adams, disc 3. I had returned the wrong disc. Of course the quick call to the store was no good – it had just been handed to the mail person – who on most days is late, but on this day of all days showed up early and happy with the world.
Yes, I am going through the whole process of trying to get it returned to me. No, I do not believe I will actually see the disc again, but I do have hope.
In the meantime, my workout routine has adjusted somewhat. I have decided to revisit one of my original games – this time on the hardest setting. . . so far so good…
I can just hear it now. “As your metabolism improves, your digestive health will too!” followed closely by “Great shooting Scott! Now meet up at the rendezvous point for immediate extraction!”. (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 – the main character is Cpt. Scott Mitchell…)
The things we do to stay in shape. Sigh.

That is horrible….I actually feel really bad about that and I don’t even like that game that much….strike that…I don’t like it when John plays that. That being said, if you need to borrow a copy of the game….you can use ours. I’ll just tell John that I accidentally sent it back to blockbuster 🙂 !
