Vol 1, No 1."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ah, women. Being a man, I am constantly reminded that I have a lot to learn about women in general. But I want to examine an incident that occurred today that takes us far beyond the typical male humor scenarios that we all know and appreciate about the fairer sex.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight I had the privelege of talking through the emotions. Being the kind and sensitive man that I am, I asked questions &#8211; and listened, intently &#8211; striving to understand, not just nod my head in agreement as I had to talk her down from the emotional precipice<a href=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/desert1-1.jpg\"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So what has you so upset?&#8221; I asked.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/desert1-1.jpg\"><\/a>&#8220;Sometimes I feel like I just can&#8217;t hold it together&#8221; she replied.<br \/>\n&#8220;Well, what do you think would help you hold it all together, do you need to talk, or\u00a0do you just need\u00a0time to yourself?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No&#8230;&#8221; she replied.<br \/>\n&#8220;Well, sweetheart, what is it that\u00a0you think you need?&#8221; I asked again.<br \/>\n&#8220;Dessert&#8221; she responded. &#8220;Dessert is the only thing that helps me hold it together when I can&#8217;t hold it together&#8221;, she stated emphatically.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Really, what kind?&#8221;.<br \/>\n&#8220;Ice cream, chocolate cake, just.. dessert.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My dear&#8230; you are your mother&#8217;s daughter.&#8221; I told my six year old.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dessert2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-216  aligncenter\" title=\"dessert2\" src=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dessert2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"69\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ah, women.
