(phrase stolen from the LOL Cats&#8230;)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/sarahpalin-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-298\" title=\"sarahpalin\" src=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/sarahpalin-1-150x112.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"112\" \/><\/a>So I watched the Sarah Palin speech at the RN<a href=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/sarahpalin-1.jpg\"><\/a>C, I have been listening to the &#8216;drive-by&#8217; media (as it is called by conservative talk show hosts), and I have heard the talk of the lack of experience Mrs. Palin has for a VP.<\/p>\n<p>While I disagree with that point entirely in the political arena &#8211; I wanted to just express a thought outside the box for a second&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I spent two weeks early on taking care of my three young ones whilst my lovely wife went overseas on an international rock concert tour &#8211; singing to millions of her adoring fans in sold out venues all across Europe.\u00a0 (Okay she was really visiting her Ouma but this is an internet blog.\u00a0 If you read it on the interent, it has to be true.\u00a0 Actually it just sounded more exciting to put it the other way).<\/p>\n<p>My experience to that point in the day to day house and home was admittedly limited &#8211; sure I could change a diaper, wash the dishes, and feed the kids 2 out of 3 meals a day.\u00a0\u00a0I learned very quickly that\u00a0this stay at home dad experience\u00a0was the best &#8216;extreme project management 101&#8217; course any\u00a0professional could take.\u00a0 I learned the value of preparation &#8211; taking that extra 2 minutes to pour the juice before bed and pop it in the fridge in order to save 30 minutes the next morning.\u00a0 I learned to be suspicious of common theories until they are proven as fact &#8211; that no matter what the box says, &#8216;super absorbant &#8216; is shall we say, subjective and debatable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>More importantly I learned that the job of a stay at home mom is more demanding, more difficult, and more rewarding than any job I could possibly have or do.\u00a0\u00a0 Add to that the job of supporting a child with &#8216;special needs&#8217; (I seriously dislike that phrase..) and the job is twice as difficult.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Just for fun, add to that a day job (oh say, like the governor of Alaska) and I suppose that might add a little pressure to the mix as well.\u00a0 It is this author&#8217;s humble opinion that\u00a0Mrs. Palin brings more to the table than &#8216;just&#8217; the &#8216;limited&#8217; political experience touted by the media.\u00a0 I for one would love to hear from\u00a0any &#8216;governor-turned-media&#8217; correspondent\u00a0 on that issue.\u00a0 Unless I am mistaken, many former Presidents were once governors..)<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Palin\u00a0defintely gets my vote when it comes to the resolve shown under pressure.\u00a0 And, call me naive, but when she looked at the camera, read the teleprompter and stated to the families of children with special needs that they would have an advocate in the white house, I believed her.<\/p>\n<p>In case it doesn&#8217;t show below, the author of this post is scott&#8230; (and I approve this message).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I watched the Sarah Palin speech at the RNC, I have been listening to the &#8216;drive-by&#8217; media (as it is called by conservative talk show hosts), and I have heard the talk of the&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5],"tags":[170,189,190,226],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/297"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=297"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/297\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=297"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=297"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=297"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
