{"id":637,"date":"2009-02-04T11:44:42","date_gmt":"2009-02-04T17:44:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scottnkelly.com\/blog\/?p=637"},"modified":"2009-02-04T11:44:42","modified_gmt":"2009-02-04T17:44:42","slug":"you-would-think","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/2009\/02\/04\/you-would-think\/","title":{"rendered":"You would think . . ."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/compass-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-638 alignright\" title=\"Are you sure you know where you are going?\" src=\"https:\/\/scottnkelly.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/compass-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"122\" height=\"123\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So last week I took it upon myself to pick up the kids from school as my bride was not feeling well.<\/p>\n<p>I too was suffering from a bit of a headache and just the typical irritations one acquires during temperature fluctuations and the like, so upon picking up the kids I informed them that it needed to be very quiet in the car, and that the 327th question asked in the space of about 2 minutes was the last question that was to be asked of me until we arrived safely at our destination.<\/p>\n<p>What they did not know was that I had a secondary mission to deliver a rather large sum of money to the dance studio as a costume deposit, which necessitated an alternative route to the homestead.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t until we were WELL off the beaten path that the conversation that picked up between the three travelers behind me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hey look at those houses &#8211; man those are big &#8211; and new too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Wait a minute&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">&#8220;We aren&#8217;t supposed to go this way&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">&#8220;Maybe dad went the wrong way&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">&#8220;Well he SHOULD know where he&#8217;s going&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">&#8220;Maybe he forgot&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">&#8220;Wait&#8230; this is the way to dance&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">So much for the no questions request.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoPlainText\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So last week I took it upon myself to pick up the kids from school as my bride was not feeling well.
