Where shall we eat today?

So in an effort to celebrate the return of school, dinner out ‘was a go’.   Amidst the plethora, no – vast numbers, no – veritable cornucopia, no – okay, 3 decent and semi-affordable restaurant choices in Mobile to choose from, “Carrabbas” was chosen.  Did I say semi-affordable?  Scratch that.

And even though the hostess was dumbstruck at the audacity shown when we decided to leave at 5:45PM with our three hungry children as opposed to wait the short 45 minutes for a table, we packed everyone back into the car to find another suitable restaurant to eat at.

While passing the nearby Burger King, all three kids exclaimed that it was a perfectly acceptable dining establishment, and emphasized it’s prominence in the marketplace.  “You know – that’s the place where there is the King who makes burgers.”

Immediately my wife commented to me that I should probably NOT blog about this, and under no circumstances should I post a picture of the king who freaks us out everytime we see the commercial.  I made no promises – and given the recent inactivity of blogging, it was decided that the world needed to hear it.

While I personally appreciate the notion that the fine king is making burgers for all, with a servant’s heart, there are more than a few reasons why we did not visit.  Instead, we went 45 minutes away and ate at a less cost effective restaurant, but the kids enjoyed using their ‘kid chopsticks’, and the experience was enjoyed by all involved…
